The science of sustainable food systems taught at one of Europe’s leading agricultural universities.
The Joint Undergraduate Programme in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Science offers an integrated five-year pathway leading to a fully accredited Master’s degree (300 ECTS, EQF Level 7), jointly delivered by the School of Agriculture and the School of Chemistry of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The programme provides students with advanced scientific training across the full agri-food chain — from primary production and natural resource management to food technology, quality, and sustainability.
Students gain hands-on experience from the very first year, working in modern analytical laboratories, specialised research facilities, and the University’s 180-hectare experimental farm — one of the largest of its kind located within a European city. This combination of theoretical depth and applied training prepares graduates to address real-world challenges such as climate change, food security, and the sustainable transformation of agri-food systems.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki ranks among the top institutions in Europe in Agricultural and Food Sciences, and our graduates go on to careers in research, industry, policy, and entrepreneurship — or continue to doctoral studies at leading universities worldwide.
