The Joint Undergraduate Program of Studies in English (JEUPS) is a newly established program and, as such, has not yet undergone external evaluation and accreditation by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education. Its design, development, and operation have been carried out from the outset in full alignment with the Quality Standards of the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education and the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015), with the objective of achieving successful initial accreditation.<\/p>\n
The JEUPS operates under the coordination and supervision of two Schools of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Both the participating academic units and their core undergraduate programs offered in Greek, as well as the University itself, have undergone external evaluation and accreditation by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education. The findings and recommendations of the accreditation panels for the core Greek-taught undergraduate programs have been taken into account in the design of the new JEUPS. Indicatively, these include the structure of the Curriculum, the definition of expected learning outcomes, the student-centered approach to learning, student assessment procedures, and the assurance of a high-quality learning environment.<\/p>\n
Both the School of Agriculture and the School of Chemistry have successfully completed external evaluation processes for their Greek-taught undergraduate programs, adopting and implementing the recommendations received. Indicative examples include:<\/p>\n
The external evaluation and accreditation process of the JEUPS will be organized by the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education and conducted by a panel of independent experts, in accordance with the applicable regulatory framework. In collaboration with the Internal Evaluation Group (OMEA), the Quality Assurance Unit (MODIP), and other competent bodies, the JEUPS has prepared the Program Accreditation File, ensuring completeness, clarity, and well-documented presentation of all required information.<\/p>\n
MODIP provides systematic scientific, administrative, and technical support throughout the accreditation process. This includes reviewing the completeness and quality of the Accreditation File, preparing the required Initial Evaluation Report, supporting the external evaluation procedure, and contributing to the effective response to any recommendations included in the Accreditation Report.<\/p>\n
The conclusions and recommendations arising from the initial accreditation process will be systematically utilized to develop and implement a targeted improvement action plan. This plan will be integrated into the annual internal evaluation cycle of the Program and monitored by the Program Steering Committee, OMEA, and MODIP, with the aim of continuously enhancing the quality and effectiveness of the Program.<\/p>\n
In this context, periodic external evaluation and accreditation are regarded as key mechanisms for quality assurance and continuous improvement, contributing to the international recognition of the Program, the transparency of its operation, and the ongoing enhancement of the educational and learning experience.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
